What never really made sense to me was the point that although Harry's Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin all despised him (likely for inadvertently being the cause of his mother's death at the hands of a deranged, power-mad, magical purist) (a very "pro-abortion message" if I ever heard one), they were (for some unknown reason) completely against the prospect of Harry being out of the house for roughly 67% - 75% of the calendar year! They literally treated Harry like crap for almost 10 years, never gave him a proper room of his own (at least not until the 2nd book/movie), and blamed him for almost everything. Why WOULDN'T they want him out of the house for most of the year?

The "dissapearing the glass with his mind" thing Harry does is accidental magic. It uncontrolled magic triggered by (usually) high emotion. So yea he probablly couldnt do it again cuz it was uncontrolled and ya know accidental.

Fun Fact: 104 characters died in the books, and 21 characters weren't in the movies, like Percy Weasley's girlfriend, Penelope Clearwater. and a lot of the dead characters died off-screen, so overall, the books are better. I'm reading Book 4.

you really do need to read the books to understand a lot of this, like when harry makes the glass dissapear and reappear at the zoo, it's because he's young and hasn't learnt to control his magic yet. when a wizard grows up their magic becomes more refined and needs to be channeled, COUGH wands COUGH, rather than just being thrown at things in a magical heap that embodies and empowers childrens desire to have everything go thier way.
